We are pleased to announce that Ulf Slunga is returning to Sinetiq after an almost two-year absence. He will assume the role of a system integrator, with a focus on testing automation and quality assurance.
Ulf Slunga was actually the very first recruit when Sinetiq first started back in 2021, but he later took a detour in 2023. Now that the experienced systems integrator is back at Sinetiq, a lot has changed – and some things haven’t at all.
– I’m happy to be back at Sinetiq. Although I now have more colleagues than before and the premises are larger, the culture and the mission remain the same. There is a strong team spirit, and everyone is passionate about what we do, says Ulf.
The ideas behind SOA, microservices, and independent components are concepts that Ulf has recognized and has been striving for since the 1990s, when loose coupling was a key goal in software architecture within the telecom industry.
– Ever since then, I’ve believed that service-oriented architecture is the future. A monolithic system only increases in complexity over time, which is a phenomenon we often observe in our customers’ digital infrastructures today. This, in turn, means that it becomes difficult to implement changes and perform tests. After many years of experience working with technical QA, I strongly believe that increasing the testability of software architectures by breaking down monoliths and focusing on formal API specifications is the way to go, Ulf explains.
Over the years, Ulf has become an expert in testing automation and quality assurance. Now, when he is rejoining Sinetiq, he will split his time between customer projects and fine-tuning Sinetiq’s test tool Extensible Test Tool (xTT).
– I remember how we used to talk about developing our own test tool back in 2021. So seeing it come to fruition makes me very happy. I look forward to utilizing my knowledge and experience to enhance the xTT, Sinetiq, and our customers’ operations even further.
Born and raised in Piteå and now residing in Luleå, Ulf has spent the majority of his life in Norrbotten. For him, relaxation is getting out into nature.
– Over the years, I’ve found my secret places around Luleå, and I really enjoy going out on a bike ride for a picnic during a hot summer day. Also, practicing my golf game and hitting the trails to keep my run streak alive.
We thank Ulf for the interview, and once again, welcome back!
