Introducing Malin Viklund – Sinetiq’s new Business Architect

We are pleased to introduce you to Malin Viklund, our new Business Architect. After two decades of working with IT within the heavy industry, she will bring us a unique perspective on customer challenges and needs.

After nearly 20 years of working in IT for the heavy industry, Malin Viklund is now taking the step to Sinetiq and assuming the role of Business Architect. She brings a unique understanding of the customer perspective and will play an important role in coordinating system implementations and creating consensus between Sinetiq’s experts and the client side.

– My role is somewhat of a translator between the two parties. I help customers understand the technical perspective of our architects and integrators, while also facilitating effective communication of their needs. Creating understanding for each other is one of the keys to successful collaboration, Malin says.

Although Malin is new at Sinetiq, Sinetiq is not new to her. During her time as an IT technician at Scania, she collaborated with Sinetiq to implement SOA – a concept with which she is well-versed.

– At my former employer, we began actively working with SOA around 2016, and over time, we saw several benefits to it, for instance, in terms of maintenance and updates. Now, I look forward to working with an industry leader like Sinetiq, and helping other organizations harness the power of SOA.

Leaving a job after 20 years is a significant decision, and it certainly took Malin some time even to consider it. However, after just under a month at Sinetiq, she has begun to feel increasingly at home in her new work environment.

– I really appreciate the company culture here. There’s an inclusive atmosphere and a great sense of humor, combined with impressively high skill levels. Everyone is focused on both personal growth and contributing to our shared progress – it’s a culture and team spirit that I’m eager to be a part of and help nurture.

Malin is, to say the least, a true team player and a source of energy, so much so that she was awarded “Energizer of the year” at the Addher Awards in 2024. But even an Energizer needs to recharge her batteries sometimes, and for Malin, there’s no better way to do this than curling up in front of the fire with a good book.

– I probably read at least three books a week – everything from fantasy to historical novels and biographies. If you do the math, that’s already nine books since I started at Sinetiq, and there are definitely many more to come!
