Sinetiq appoints Mikael Nyström as new Chairman of the Board

Sinetiq announces the appointment of Mikael Nyström as its new Chairman of the Board. The recruitment is a strategic step in the company’s continued development, with a strong focus on strengthening its product portfolio and positioning Sinetiq’s offering in both the Swedish and international markets.

Sinetiq specializes in flexible system integration, a field critical for industrial companies undergoing digital transformation. As Sinetiq enters the next phase of its growth, the company has appointed Mikael Nyström as Chairman of the Board to complement the organization’s existing expertise.

– We are on an exciting journey in which our products will play a more prominent role alongside our consulting business. In that context, it is crucial to bring in someone who has made that journey before and who can challenge us from an external perspective. Mikael is exactly that person, says Kalle Gramner, CEO of Sinetiq.

Mikael Nyström has more than 15 years of experience leading product development, commercialization, and international market launches. He has previously held senior positions at technology and IT companies, including Mobilaris AB, and has served on the boards of approximately 10 companies. These roles have often been in organizations that combine cutting-edge technology with strong growth ambitions. Mikael also has extensive experience with the IT consulting industry and industrial customers, areas where Sinetiq already holds a strong position.

– Sinetiq has a very high level of technical expertise and a clear competitive edge within its field. What attracted me was the combination of strong values, committed people, and a clear ambition to develop the product portfolio further, says Mikael Nyström.

A key question for the Board will be how Sinetiq can balance its consulting business with product development, which requires long-term thinking, prioritization, and investment.

– Running both consulting and product businesses within the same company is both a strength and a challenge. The Board’s role is to set direction, ask the difficult questions, and ensure that the right priorities are made over time. I see my role as contributing experience in taking a product from idea to a well-defined product portfolio in a global market, says Mikael Nyström.

Mikael Nyström formally assumed his role as Chairman of the Board at the board meeting on December 1, 2025.

– I am still driven by curiosity and a competitive spirit. It is great to be part of building something where I can make a tangible contribution. This is going to be exciting, Mikael Nyström concludes.
